Barcelona are reportedly prioritising the completion of a deal for Los Angeles Galaxy right-back Julian Araujo on transfer deadline day.
Xavi's side are expected to wave goodbye to Hector Bellerin in the next few hours, with the Spaniard set to join Sporting Lisbon on loan for the remainder of the season.
Bellerin will arrive in Portugal as a replacement for Tottenham Hotspur-bound Pedro Porro, and Barca boss Xavi confirmed that his side would be open to welcoming a new face to the club in the 27-year-old's place.
"We're open to signing one new player, Bellerin asked to leave. We are on it," the Blaugrana manager told reporters earlier on Tuesday.
Now, Get Spanish Football News reports that LA Galaxy defender Araujo is Barcelona's prime target to replace Bellerin for the remainder of the campaign given their financial predicament.
The 21-year-old is supposedly set to join the Blaugrana on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, having amassed two goals and 14 assists in 109 games for LA Galaxy in all tournaments.
Barcelona will be expected to move for a new permanent right-back in the summer, when Bellerin could leave as a free agent, and Bayern Munich's Benjamin Pavard is said to be "very keen" on a switch to Catalonia.
