Barcelona have reportedly put Jordi Alba's contract talks on hold despite the full-back having less than 18 months remaining on his current deal.
Alba remains an integral part of Ernesto Valverde's side at Camp Nou, featuring in 32 of Barcelona's 37 outings across all competitions so far this season.
However, talks over an extension to his current deal have so far proved fruitless, with two rounds of negotiations failing to make any progress prior to the latest impasse.
Marca reports that the two parties have not been in contact for the past month after the discussions stalled once again, leaving the future of the Spain international up in the air.
Both Valverde and the Barcelona board are eager to strike an agreement with Alba, particularly as they have struggled to find a backup for him so far this season.
Alba has also suggested that he sees his future at Camp Nou, although the two parties are still understood to be some way apart in negotiations over fresh terms.
