Slaven Bilic confident West Ham will complete deal to sign Alex Song

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is confident that Alex Song will pass his medical and complete his move to Upton Park from Barcelona.

Slaven Bilic has said that he is confident West Ham United will complete the signing of Alex Song.

The Hammers have agreed terms with Barcelona to sign the 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Upton Park.

Song had undergone ankle surgery in the summer, however, and must now go through stringent medical tests to finalise the move.

However, Bilic is unconcerned with the midfielder's recent fitness problems and believes that the transfer will soon be completed.

"We're very confident he will pass the medical," Bilic was quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

"It is now down to the medical. We're hoping he will pass that because we know how good he was last year. We would like to get him."

Song made 28 Premier League appearances for West Ham last season and has agreed a three-year deal.
