Everton reportedly hold talks with Barcelona over a potential transfer for Philippe Coutinho in the upcoming January market.

Everton have held talks over a potential transfer for Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho, according to a report.

The Brazilian international has featured 12 times in La Liga this season, scoring twice in the process, while he has also made four appearances in the Champions League.

However, the midfielder has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou as of late, and a transfer out of Spain could take place as early as next month.

According to Sport, talks have been held with Everton over a potential move that would see Coutinho make his return to the Premier League to join the Toffees.

The 29-year-old spent five-and-a-half seasons in England when he was with Liverpool, making the move to Barcelona in the January transfer window back in 2018.

Everton currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, with the team having dealt with a lot of injuries throughout the campaign.
