Gonzalo Higuain "flattered" by Barcelona link

Napoli and Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain admits that he is "flattered" by transfer speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Gonzalo Higuain has admitted that he is "flattered" by reports that Barcelona are attempting to sign him during this summer's transfer window.

Spanish media reported that the Primera Division side had agreed a deal to bring the Napoli striker to Camp Nou yesterday evening, but the Italian side quickly dismissed the speculation.

The Argentina international told Efe: "Of course. I enjoy playing alongside [Lionel Messi] for the national team.

"Obviously it would be an enormous pleasure, but for now I'm focused on the World Cup. I'm flattered by the interest from Barca. Any player would be."

Higuain scored 24 goals during the 2013-14 season with Napoli.
