Inter Milan chief executive Piero Ausilio rules out the possibility of Lautaro Martinez leaving the club for Barcelona this summer.

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has insisted that rumoured Barcelona target Lautaro Martinez will not leave the club this summer.

Martinez has long been touted as Barca's top target for the summer transfer window, with the Spanish giants identifying the 23-year-old as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

However, Barca's transfer plans have since been altered by the appointment of Ronald Koeman and Lionel Messi's request to leave, and Ausilio has now ruled out the possibility of Martinez moving to Camp Nou too.

"We never started official talks with Barcelona for Lautaro Martinez," Ausilio told Sky Sport Italia.

"The day after the release clause expired we considered him out of the market. It's over."

Martinez scored 21 goals and created seven more in 49 appearances for Inter last season.
