Inter Milan are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, who has been told that he is not part of Ronald Koeman's plans at Camp Nou.

Inter Milan are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Arturo Vidal from Barcelona this summer.

The 33-year-old is understood to be one of the players new boss Ronald Koeman deems surplus to requirements as he looks to rebuild his squad in the wake of a turbulent 2019-20 campaign on and off the field.

Inter are keen to bring him back to Serie A, where he was part of four successive title-winning sides at Juventus from 2011-12 to 2014-15.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio confirmed the club's interest in the Chile international today, telling Sky Sport Italia: "We like Arturo Vidal for sure.

"But he's a Barcelona player right now. If they'll let him go at right conditions, we'll consider to sign him."

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has since claimed that personal terms are close to being agreed between Vidal and Inter, while talks are ongoing over a potential transfer fee.

Vidal's agent is reportedly hopeful of working out a way for his client to leave Camp Nou for free, with Inter reluctant to pay anything for the midfielder.

Ausilio also confirmed that Inter have no interest in signing wantaway Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.
