Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has revealed that he has taken pride from suggestions that he is viewed by Barcelona as a potential replacement for Xavi.
Qatar-bound Xavi, 35, left the Catalans at the end of last season having made over 750 appearances for the club.
When asked about the reports that have claimed Barca view him as the ideal player to fill the void left by Xavi, 23-year-old Koke admitted that he was flattered.
"I'm proud that they think that. I try to work hard, to do the best I can and, in any case, it means that I am doing well for my club, which makes me happy," he told Sport.
However, the Spain international did go on to add that he was "very happy at Atletico".
"I have a contract, I am very happy at home and I feel wanted. We are growing and, for the moment, I don't see myself leaving. I don't feel the need because I am very happy at Atletico," he said.
Koke scored four goals from his 42 appearances in all competitions last term.
