Barcelona are given a boost in their pursuit of Lautaro Martinez as the striker has rejected a new contract offer from Inter Milan, according to a report.

Lautaro Martinez has reportedly rejected the offer of a new contract with Inter Milan, potentially paving the way for a move to Barcelona.

The Argentina international is believed to be one of two players being targeted by Barca ahead of next season, along with Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have publicly backed their club's pursuit of Martinez and, according to Sport, the La Liga giants have been given a major boost in their hopes of landing him.

Martinez is said to have been offered a deal worth £3.5m per season to stay at San Siro, which is significantly less than what Barcelona are willing to pay.

The report suggests that the 22-year-old now has his heart set on playing alongside compatriot Messi at club level, with Inter resigned to losing one of their key men.
