Lionel Messi: 'Neymar would be wonderful at Barcelona'

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi welcomes the club's reported interest in Brazilian international striker Neymar.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has declared that Neymar would prove to be a worthwhile and welcome signing if he completes a move to the Camp Nou this summer.

Neymar has been consistently linked with a switch to the Catalan giants in recent months, with Santos reportedly determined to keep their talisman for at least another season.

Messi believes that the Brazilian starlet would add something unique to Barca's attack and would welcome the chance to partner him up front for Tito Vilanova's side.

The Argentine told Qatar Alkass: "I do not know if he will end up at the club or not.

"However, it is true that he is a player who would bring a very different dimension to the team. Of course he would be a wonderful addition."

Barca are reportedly keen to strengthen their squad this summer in order to achieve their ambitions of replicating recent La Liga success in the Champions League next season.
