Real Betis boss Rubi has suggested that his club are attempting to secure a deal for Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena.
Having made just three first-team appearances since the start of the season, Barcelona are open to parting ways with the 21-year-old in January.
While a number of clubs hold an interest in the Spaniard, Rubi has acknowledged that discussions have been held regarding the acquisition of the prospect.
Speaking at a press conference, Rubi told reporters: "Yes, it is true that the club are moving [towards a deal], either with Alena or with other players.
"Everyone who believes that they can help us improve the level that we already have, which will not be easy, will be welcome."
As it stands, it is unclear whether Barcelona plan to sell Alena or allow him to leave on loan until the summer.
