Barcelona midfielder Xavi could reportedly join FC Tokyo in January.
The veteran Spaniard has been with Barca since 1991, making his first-team debut in 1998 and appearing more than 700 times in all competitions.
The 34-year-old has been used more sparingly this season, however, as he enters the latter stages of his career.
The midfielder was linked with a move away from the Camp Nou in January, but decided to remain at his hometown club.
According to L'Equipe, Tokyo are prepared to offer the former Spain international a lucrative contract at the start of 2015, with Xavi believed to be keen on a new challenge.
Various sides from the MLS and Qatar are also said to be monitoring proceedings.
