Report: Ernesto Valverde wants Angel di Maria at Barcelona

A report claims that Paris Saint-Germain attacker Angel di Maria is a summer transfer target for Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is reportedly determined to bring Paris Saint-Germain's Angel di Maria to Camp Nou this summer.

Valverde replaced Luis Enrique as head coach of the Spanish giants last month, and it is understood that the former Athletic Bilbao boss will oversee a number of changes in terms of personnel before the new season.

According to La Parisien, Valverde has identified Argentina international Di Maria as his leading target for this summer's transfer window, and will tell the board to open discussions with the Paris outfit.

Di Maria scored 39 times in 190 appearances for Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014, before joining PSG in the summer of 2015 after one season with Manchester United, where the Argentine failed to settle.

The 29-year-old scored 14 times in all competitions for PSG during the 2016-17 campaign.
