Luis Suarez has revealed that talks over a new long-term deal at Barcelona are at an "advanced stage", a day after admitting that he intends to finish his career at Camp Nou.
The Uruguay international, a £75m arrival from Liverpool in 2014, has had a big impact at the Catalan club by hitting 62 goals in 70 La Liga appearances so far.
Having tied down versatile midfielder Javier Mascherano and superstar forward Neymar to fresh terms this week, Barca are now hoping to do likewise with another member of their fabled attacking trio.
"They are handling the renewal," Suarez told Sport 890. "It's really advanced and I can say it's on the right path. Both sides are in agreement and we're talking about a long deal."
Suarez was this week awarded his second Golden Shoe, having led the scoring charts across Europe's top divisions last season.
