Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has admitted that he "does not know" whether his club will be able to secure a return for Neymar before this summer's transfer window slams shut.
The Spanish champions continue to be linked with a swoop for the Paris Saint-Germain attacker, although Real Madrid are also said to be in the hunt for the Brazilian's services before the start of September.
Valverde, whose side will continue their preparations for the 2019-20 campaign against Napoli on Saturday night, responded "we'll see" when questioned on a swoop for the 27-year-old in the coming weeks.
"We'll see what happens. The classic response is that he plays for another team and that's that," Valverde told reporters. "All I know is that I'm the manager and I only think about the players I have. As it stands, I don't know what is going to happen."
Neymar is believed to have made it clear that he wants to leave Thomas Tuchel's side this summer.
However, the South American could still be involved in their Ligue 1 opener against Nimes on Sunday night.
