West Ham United have major doubts over signing midfielder Alex Song on a permanent deal, according to reports.
Song joined West Ham on loan from Barcelona last summer, and he excelled in the first half of the season as the Hammers finished the year in contention for European football.
However, his form has fallen away since the New Year, and a permanent deal is now reportedly hanging in the balance.
The Daily Mail says that the West Ham board are reluctant to do a deal with Barcelona due to Song's £80,000-per-week wages, which they consider expensive for a player whose impact has been minimal since January.
Song's Barcelona contract runs out in 2017.
