Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly on the brink of winning the race to sign Angers defender Rayan Ait Nouri.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly favourites to win the race to sign Angers defender Rayan Ait Nouri.

The 19-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona earlier in the summer transfer window as the Catalan giants look to cash in on Junior Firpo.

However, according to RMC Sport, Wolves and Valencia are now at the front of the queue for the France Under-21 international.

Wolves are said to be on the brink of finalising a deal for the prospect, who represented Angers against Paris Saint-Germain on Friday evening.

Head coach Stephane Moulin acknowledged after the fixture at Parc des Princes that Ait Nouri will be leaving the club before Monday's transfer deadline.

Ait Nouri is regarded as a direct replacement for Ruben Vinagre, who is allegedly on the verge of leaving Wolves for Olympiacos.
