Half-Time Report: Alfreton Town holding Conference Premier leaders Barnet

Conference Premier leaders Barnet are being held by basement side Alfreton Town at half time at the Hive Stadium.

Bottom-of-the-table side Alfreton Town have managed to remain on level terms with Conference Premier leaders Barnet at half time.

Barnet started the match on the front foot with former Alfreton striker John Akinde proving to be a handful for his former side, but the frontman couldn't open the scoring for the Bees.

However, the Conference basement side came back into it on the quarter-hour mark, with Dan Bradley blazing a shot across goal from an acute angle.

The visitors were proving to be a match for the hosts, with Jordan Keane squandering a decent chance inside the penalty area, but Lee Cook, who has started the season in superb form, started to weave his magic for Barnet in the final third.

The former Leyton Orient winger crossed for Akinde, who headed over from close range, before Cook found Charlie MacDonald at the far post, but he couldn't add the finishing touch.
