Football League grant Barnet permission to move to Edgware

Barnet to move to Edgware

Barnet Football Club have been given formal permission by the Football League to relocate to Edgware.

The League Two outfit plan to leave Underhill, where they have been based for the past 106 years, and move into their new home - The Hive - before the start of next season.

"We waited until the last possible minute before applying to the League as I was not prepared to take this action until we had exhausted all avenues with Barnet Council," chairman Tony Kleanthous told the club's official website.

"There can be no better statement of our intent and, with the new facilities at The Hive and extra investment in the squad, we are looking forward to the future."

It is understood that The Hive will have an approximate capacity of 5,100.
