Republic of Ireland midfielder Keith Treacy has left League One side Barnsley by mutual consent.
The 26-year-old joined the Tykes on a two-year deal following his release by Burnley in the summer.
He made 16 appearances in all competitions, the last of which came in the FA Cup against non-League Chester in December.
Treacy, who won the last of his six international caps in 2011, began his career at Blackburn Rovers and has also played for Stockport County, Sheffield United, Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday.
Barnsley are currently 16th in the League One table and travel to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
