Bayer Leverkusen: 'We could sell Hakan Calhanoglu'

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade admits that his club might be forced into selling 21-year-old midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade has admitted that his club could be forced to sell midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

A recent report claimed that Leverkusen would not entertain offers of less than £29m for a player that has scored five times for his German club this season.

Far from denying the speculation, Schade has conceded that his club would not be in a strong position to resist a big-money offer.

"We want to keep Hakan but, for us, there is an absolute upper limit," Schade told Sport Bild.

Calhanoglu, who is contracted to Leverkusen until 2019, has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal.
