Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers claims that his side are capable of producing a "big result" in Europe to help mirror their imperious record domestically in Scotland.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has backed his side to soon make a bold statement in the Champions League.

The Hoops currently find themselves 62 games unbeaten domestically, equalling their own previous record, but the club are yet to find the same sort of consistency in Europe.

Rodgers and his charges take on Bayern Munich on Wednesday, and the former Liverpool coach has insisted that his team will soon produce a "big result" on the most challenging of stages.

"It takes time but we hope somewhere very soon we can produce a big result," Rodgers said ahead of the contest in Group B.

"My players have shown their consistency domestically, they've shown they are growing at this level, having not been in it for a few years. We have a lot of young players that are gaining invaluable experience from it.

"We had a great performance against Man City last year, and they were doing very well. We just failed to get that victory but that's what we're searching for at this level. Tomorrow night we want to get a result and we have to show we have the qualities to do that. We always think we have a great chance at home."

Celtic currently hold third spot in the group after three games, having already lost to both Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain.
