Netherlands midfielder Arjen Robben has admitted that he has "never had a week like this" before.
The Holland international has faced much criticism for missing a penalty for club side Bayern Munich in the Champions League final against Chelsea, but thanked fans from his homeland for their support.
"I want to thank the Dutch supporters [for a standing ovation]," he told SBS.
"It's fantastic to receive so much support. I never had a week like this; it was hard but that's the life of a professional athlete."
With two games to go before Euro 2012, Bert van Marwijk's side take on Slovakia next week.
