Arjen Robben "disappointed" by Bayern Munich display

Arjen Robben admits that Bayern Munich have to take the blame for missing out on the DFL-Supercup for the third season in succession.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has insisted that he and his teammates must "look very critically at ourselves" after missing out on the DFL-Supercup.

The Bavarian giants were edged out on penalties by Wolfsburg on Saturday evening to see their opening match of the season end in disappointment.

It is the third year in succession that Bayern have lost in the curtain-raiser, and goalscorer Robben admits that his side should have got the job done.

"I'm disappointed," he told his club's official website. "That's football, it can all change in a minute - but we have to look very critically at ourselves because we should have wrapped it up earlier. We had our chances and at 2-0 it would have been all over."

Pep Guardiola's men are back in action on Tuesday evening when they take on AC Milan in a pre-season friendly.
