Bayern Munich's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge refuses to discuss reports linking Pep Guardiola with the club.

Bayern Munich's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has refused to comment on speculation linking his club with Pep Guardiola.

The former Barcelona coach has been put forward by several media outlets in Germany as a potential candidate to replace Jupp Heynckes at the end of next season.

However, when asked about the possibility of the Spaniard taking over at the Allianz Arena, Rummenigge insisted that he would not discuss the matter until after Christmas.

"We will think about it calmly," he told reporters. "You will get no quotes from us about this issue before Christmas. Only then will we sit down.

"Pep Guardiola? I have also read about this, but no-one from Bayern has confirmed this."

Guardiola is currently on a one-year sabbatical away from football.
