Dallas pair to spend time at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich announce that Dallas pair Chris Richards and Thomas Roberts will spend 10 days training with the German club in the near future.

Dallas pair Chris Richards and Thomas Roberts have been given the opportunity to spend 10 days training with Bayern Munich.

Earlier this year, the MLS side struck an agreement with the German giants regarding a partnership at academy level, with the target to discover and develop the next star from the United States.

The next stage of that process with see both Richards and Roberts travel to Munich with the hope of enhancing their progress ahead of a first-team bow with the Texas-based outfit.

Dallas president Dan Hunt is quoted by Bayern's official website as saying: "This is a phenomenal opportunity for Chris and Thomas. Both of these players have bright futures and this experience with FC Bayern will give them great exposure to the sport on a global scale."

Richards is an 18-year-old defender who has established himself as a regular for Dallas's Under-19 team, while 17-year-old midfielder Roberts has progressed from the Under-14 setup to join his compatriot in the Under-19s.
