Arsene Wenger: 'I will not be Bayern Munich's next boss'

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger rules himself of the running to become Bayern Munich's next head coach.

Arsene Wenger has ruled himself out of the running to become Bayern Munich's next head coach.

The German champions are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Niko Kovac in the aftermath of last weekend's heavy 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Wenger had emerged as a candidate for the position, and the Frenchman recently claimed that he would be holding talks with Bayern over a potential switch to the Allianz Arena.

However, the 70-year-old - without a managerial position since leaving Arsenal at the end of the 2017-18 campaign - has now officially pulled out of the race after careful consideration.

"I wish good luck to Bayern, and for me the situation is settled," Wenger told beIN Sports.

The Frenchman led Arsenal to three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his time at the club, taking charge of more than 1,200 matches in a 22-year spell.
