Preview: Bayern Munich vs. FC Koln

Sports Mole previews Bayern Munich's Bundesliga match against FC Koln at the Allianz Arena, with the Bavarians having won their last two games by a 14-0 aggregate.

FC Koln may find that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time when they visit Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Friday evening.

The German champions have scored 14 unanswered goals in the process of thrashing Hamburger SV and SC Paderborn in their last two league matches.

These results have quietened talk that the Bavarians could yet be caught at the top of the table, prompted by their 4-1 defeat to Wolfsburg last month.

All of Bayern's main attacking weapons have got in on the goalscoring act, with Arjen Robben bagging braces in both routs and Robert Lewandowski three in total.

Only the top four teams in the league have a better defensive record than Koln, who have conceded just 25 goals in 22 games this season.

Problems in the other area have limited their progress in their first campaign back in Germany's top flight, and they sit 13th in the standings ahead of their trip to the Allianz Arena.

With only three points separating his side and the relegation zone, manager Peter Stoger will know that every point is vital if they are to ensure survival this term.

Koln's recent record against Bayern may give them some confidence - they have only lost three of their last eight league matches against Munich.

Stoger could go with the same side that drew 1-1 with Hannover 96 last weekend, while Pep Guardiola will see no reason to change his red-hot Bayern team, although Bastian Schweinsteiger could return at the expense of Holger Badstuber.

Philipp Lahm and Javi Martinez are nearing returns from long-term injuries, but remain unavailable.
