Bayern Munich ease past Schalke

Bayern Munich score four goals against Schalke to win their Bundesliga clash 4-0 away from home.

Bayern Munich have registered a comfortable 4-0 victory over Schalke away from home in the Bundesliga.

Pep Guardiola's side surged ahead in the 22nd minute through Bastian Schweinsteiger, who headed home Arjen Robben's corner from close range.

Schalke's defence were at fault again just a minute later when Bayern doubled their lead as Mario Mandzukic rose highest to turn David Alaba's header into the net.

Franck Ribery made it 3-0 to the Bavarian giants 15 minutes from time, guiding home an Alaba cross after a good attacking move from the visitors.

Claudio Pizarro wrapped up the victory and the three points with Bayern's fourth goal of the evening in the 85th minute, latching onto Thomas Muller's pass before slotting it past Timo Hildebrand.
