Team News: Robert Lewandowski absent from Bayern Munich squad

An injury keeps Robert Lewandowski out of the Bayern Munich squad to face SV Darmstadt 98.

Robert Lewandowski has been left out of the Bayern Munich squad for their Bundesliga meeting with SV Darmstadt 98 due to injury.

The Polish striker picked up a knock in the Champions League win over Olympiacos in midweek, and his absence gives Kingsley Coman the opportunity to make his full debut for the visitors.

There are changes elsewhere as Xabi Alonso, Philipp Lahm, Thiago and Thomas Muller all drop to the bench with one eye on the game against Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

Mario Gotze comes into the side, while Joshua Kimmich and Sebastian Rode both earn starts in midfield.

Darmstadt welcome the champions looking to protect their own unbeaten record, and the hosts make just one change as Tobias Kempe replaces Jan Rosenthal behind lone striker Dominik Stroh-Engel.

SV Darmstadt 98: Mathenia; Garics, Sulu, Caldirola, Holland; Niemeyer, Gondorf; Rausch, Kempe, Heller; Stroh-Engel
Subs: Zaluska, Vrancic, Sailer, Rosenthal, Wagner, Diaz, Jungwirth

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Rafinha, Boateng, Alaba, Bernat; Rode, Vidal, Kimmich; Costa, Götze, Coman
Subs: Ulreich, Thiago, Martinez, Alonso, Lahm, Muller
