Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer denies speculation that the club are interested in Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming that the Juventus forward is "too old".

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has ruled out the possibility of the club signing Cristiano Ronaldo due to the Juventus forward being "too old".

The future of Ronaldo, who turned 35 this week, has come under increasing scrutiny amid growing reports in Germany that Bayern could attempt to lure him to the Bundesliga this summer.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has already won league titles in England, Spain and Italy, and reports claimed that the idea of adding a fourth of Europe's big five leagues to his honours list would appeal to him.

However, Hainer has now poured cold water on those rumours, insisting that Ronaldo would not be among their list of targets due to his age.

"Of course there are always names floating around in the media linking players to the club and that is something totally understandable. But Cristiano Ronaldo would be too old for us," he is quoted as saying by AS.

Ronaldo has scored 22 goals in 27 games for Juventus so far this season and 50 in 70 outings overall since arriving in Turin in 2018.
