Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has revealed that he is in talks with the club over signing a new contract.
The German international's current deal at the Allianz Arena expires in 2015, but Bayern officials have put any talks on hold until further notice.
Despite their stance, Boateng remains confident that he will agree fresh terms with the Champions League holders.
"Whenever we reach an agreement," Boateng told reporters.
"For how long, I don't know. Bayern are a gigantic club. We are currently in talks."
When asked whether both sides were nearing an compromise, Boateng replied: "Yes"
Boateng left Manchester City to join Bayern for £11.4m in 2011.
