Duo sign new Bayern Munich contracts

Bayern Munich pair Tom Starke and Gianluca Gaudino sign new contracts with the Bundesliga outfit.

Tom Starke and Gianluca Gaudino have signed new contracts with Bayern Munich.

Deputy goalkeeper Starke's previous deal had been due to expire at the end of the season, while 18-year-old Gaudino has committed himself to professional terms for the first time.

"Over the last two-and-a-half years Tom has always delivered when called upon. He's made an essential contribution to our overall performance, but also to the mood in the dressing room," sporting director Matthias Sammer told the club's official website.

Meanwhile, on midfielder Gaudino, Sammer added: "Gianluca is our own youth product and a very good fit to FC Bayern. He's an extremely intelligent player."

Starke's new contract runs until 2016, while Gaudino has signed on until 2018.
