Report: Bayern Munich launch Romelu Lukaku pursuit

A report claims that German champions Bayern Munich are closely monitoring Everton's leading goalscorer Romelu Lukaku.

Bayern Munich have reportedly begun the process of signing Everton centre-forward Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian has been in impressive form this season, having broken a club record by already scoring 18 goals in a single Premier League campaign.

According to The People, those performances have captured the attention of German champions Bayern.

The report adds that Michael Reschke, who is the Bavarian club's technical director, was in the stands to watch Lukaku find the net against Aston Villa last Tuesday.

It is believed that Bayern are in the market for a new striker as speculation regarding Robert Lewandowski's long-term future at the Allianz Arena intensifies.

Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in Everton's 22-year-old frontman.
