Wolfsburg admit Kevin de Bruyne could leave

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs admits that reported Bayern Munich target Kevin de Bruyne could leave the club this month.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has admitted that Kevin de Bruyne could leave the German outfit this month.

The 23-year-old has been in exceptional form for Wolfsburg this season – hitting three goals and registering 10 assists in the league.

Bayern Munich have been strongly linked with the Belgian and Allofs has conceded that the midfielder could depart.

"We might have to let go of certain players," Allofs told Kicker. "Of course, Kevin has the potential to play for Bayern Munich. But he also needs the right conditions in order to do shine and to be given the right role.

"That's the case at Wolfsburg, but I don't know whether he fits Pep Guardiola's philosophy.

"We got lucky that Kevin was unhappy at Chelsea when we signed him. It didn't work out for him under Jose Mourinho. Unlike Wolfsburg, Bayern are capable of signing big names even if they are happy at their club, though."

De Bruyne's agent also recently hinted at a move this month.
