Benfica could reportedly sack head coach Jorge Jesus in the near future.
The 67-year-old's contract with the Portuguese giants is due to expire next June, and he is allegedly planning to leave the club at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
However, according to O Jogo, Benfica chiefs will hold a meeting this week to determine whether Jesus should be relieved of his duties in the coming days.
The Eagles suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the league on Friday, which has left them four points behind the reigning champions in the Primeira Liga table after 13 matches of the 2021-22 campaign.
Benfica can still qualify for the last-16 stage of the Champions League, but they will have to beat Dinamo Kiev on Wednesday night and hope that Barcelona lose against Bayern Munich.
Jesus has been in charge of the 37-time Portuguese champions since August 2020, while he also previously managed the club between June 2009 and June 2015.
