Gabriel Calderon: 'We can stay up'

Real Betis boss Gabriel Calderon remains confident that his side can secure La Liga survival this season.

Real Betis boss Gabriel Calderon has insisted that his side can still secure La Liga survival this season.

The Seville-based side are currently bottom of the table on 22 points, but victory against Malaga this evening would move them to within five points of safety with seven games remaining.

"Malaga have won away at difficult stadiums. The key will be intensity and focus and not letting Malaga play their game," Calderon told reporters at a press conference.

"Mathematically we are still in with a chance of staying up. We have to play the matches and as long as that's the case, we will keep fighting."

Betis have won just five of their 30 league games this season.
