Half-Time Report: Brighton & Hove Albion and Birmingham City go in at the break with one goal apiece

Brighton and Birmingham go in at half time with one goal apiece, thanks to goals from Joao Teixeira and Clayton Donaldson.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Birmingham have gone in at half time at 1-1 thanks to goals from Joao Teixeira and Clayton Donaldson.

Brighton started well with Beram Kayal splitting the defence with a long-range pass, but Sam Baldock couldn't get the shot on target. Teixeira then scored after dribbling down the left, cutting inside and beating Darren Randolph at his near post.

Donaldson equalised for Birmingham just five minutes later though, diverting a shot from Stephen Gleeson past David Stockdale and into the net.

Jonathan Grounds then had a stinging shot parried by Stockdale, but Andrew Shinnie could only hit the ball over the bar with the goalmouth wide open. Paul Caddis had a chance to score from the spot after Shinnie was fouled, but Stockdale got down low to save and turn the ball away.

Both teams continued to press but to no avail and they go in at half time level.
