Chris Burke has given Birmingham City a 1-0 half-time lead over Nottingham Forest at St Andrew's.
The hosts had the first chance of the match in the eighth minute, when Steven Caldwell headed over from Rob Hall's corner.
Marlon King then had another chance for the Blues, but he could only hook his low effort wide of the target.
Forest responded with an opportunity of their own when Billy Sharp flicked a header just wide of Jack Butland's goal from Andy Reid's cross.
Butland was forced into a save from point-blank range just before the break, when Greg Halford latched onto Reid's clever free kick.
However, Birmingham took the lead right on the stroke of half time when Burke's long-range effort went in off the underside of the bar.
