Team News: Clayton Donaldson, Mark Duffy start for Birmingham City

Birmingham City start with striker Clayton Donaldson and winger Mark Duffy for the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion to St Andrews.

Birmingham City have turned to summer signings Clayton Donaldson and Mark Duffy to get their Championship campaign up and running against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Both players scored in midweek, but the Blues are without Gavin Gunning, with the defender likely to be out for several weeks after picking up a knee injury in the League Cup victory over Cambridge United on Tuesday.

Brighton opt for Kazenga LuaLua to replace Will Buckley, who was sold to Sunderland this week. Andrew Crofts sits out the game through suspension.

Liverpool loanee Joao Teixeira, who has been tipped to have bright future by Sami Hyypia and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers this week, is named on the bench for the Seagulls.

Brighton narrowly lost their Championship opener to Sheffield Wednesday at the Amex last Saturday.

Birmingham City: Randolph, Spector, Grounds, Davis, Edgar, Hall, Cotterill, Caddis, Thomas, Donaldson, Novak

Brighton & Hove Albion: Stockdale, Bruno, Greer, Hughes, Calderon, Forster-Caskey, Ince, Chicksen, LuaLua, Mackail-Smith, O'Grady
