Team News: Shane Lowry handed Birmingham City debut

Shane Lowry is handed his Birmingham City debut for the Championship clash with Cardiff City at St Andrew's.

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has handed Shane Lowry a debut for his side's Championship clash with Cardiff City at St Andrew's this evening.

Lowry replaces the injured Jonathan Grounds in the starting XI in one of two changes to the side that drew with Preston North End last time out.

The other new face in the side is Jon Toral, who replaces Andrew Shinnie as Birmingham bid for a first win in six.

Cardiff also make two changes to their side as they go in search of a victory that would take them in the playoff places, with Karl Malone and Sammy Ameobi returning to the starting XI in place of Fabio and Craig Noone.

Kenwyne Jones, who scored twice in the 3-2 win over Brentford on Tuesday night, continues to lead the line alongside strike partner Tony Watt.

Birmingham City: Kuszczak; Eardley, Morrison, Spector, Lowry; Gleeson, Kieftenbeld, Gray, Toral, Maghoma; Vaughan
Subs: Legzdins, Solomon-Otabor, Shinnie, Davis, Caddis, Brock-Madsen, Halford

Cardiff City: Marshall; Peltier, Morrison, Connolly, Malone; Ameobi, Gunnarsson, Ralls, Pilkington; Watt, Jones
