Birmingham City defender James Fry has revealed that he is keen to be involved in the first team at St Andrew's next season after signing a new contract with the club.
Fry, who captains Birmingham's Under-21s, missed the majority of last season with an ankle injury, but after agreeing a 12-month deal with Lee Clark's side, he has admitted that he is hopeful of making a breakthrough in the first team during the next campaign.
The 19-year-old told the club's official website: "You always know that as a young player at this club that if you do well, your attitude is right and you perform, then you've always got a chance.
"The manager is willing to give players opportunities and hopefully I can be involved next year."
Birmingham retained their Championship status on the final day of last season when they fought back from 2-0 down to draw with Bolton Wanderers.
