Serbian striker Nikola Zigic has been training with former team Birmingham City and could re-sign for the club that he left in the summer.
The 34-year-old target-man was released by the Blues after helping them stay up on the final day of the season but is now back in training with the Championship side having failed to find a new club.
With new manager Gary Rowett in charge at St Andrew's, Zigic's chances of re-signing appear better than when Lee Clark was at the club.
"Obviously he is a player who is available and I am aware of the contribution to this club over the last four years," Rowett is quoted as saying by the Birmingham Mail.
"We have had a chat and invited him to come and train with us.
"It's just a mutual thing at present: we can have a look at him, he can have a look at us and how we do things as we are a new management team."
In four seasons with Birmingham, Zigic scored 36 goals after a £6m move from Valencia.
