Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers have played out a goalless first half at Ashton Gate, as Paul Lambert's side saw an effort cleared off the line.
Blackburn had the first opportunity of the opening period after 12 minutes when Craig Conway was taken down by Bristol captain Korey Smith 35 yards from goal.
Conway took the free kick himself, putting a ball into the box which was headed over by Jordan Rhodes.
At the other end, Bobby Reid's 17th-minute effort forced a save from Rovers keeper Jason Steele.
Kieran Agard gifted Rovers centre-half Shane Duffy a one-on-one with 32 minutes played, but Frank Fielding got down well to parry the Irishman's effort.
The rebound fell to Hope Akpan, who saw his shot cleared off the line by Luke Ayling.
