Blackburn Rovers midfielder Jason Lowe is hopeful that his injury troubles are behind him as he aims to play a part in the Championship this season.
The 23-year-old spent the majority of the 2014-15 campaign on the treatment table due to a stress fracture in his foot.
Now though, Lowe has insisted that his fitness is improving and aims to take part in the start of pre-season training next month.
"The plan is to be joining in for the start of pre-season," Lowe told the club's official website. "Last year was a very testing and frustrating season for me.
"These things happen in football and it's how you deal with them that matters. I'm feeling good at the moment and getting close to where I want to be fitness-wise.
"Most players will tell you that they are never 100% fit. The majority always have a little knock here and there, and I was no different. Hopefully it's all in the past now though."
Lowe made just 11 league starts during the previous campaign.
