Blackburn Rovers have denied reports suggesting that they have missed a payment due to Dundee United for striker David Goodwillie.
Speculation had surfaced that Rovers had not paid a slice of the transfer fee that was agreed when the Scot joined Blackburn in the summer.
In a statement on the club's website, however, Rovers revealed that they paid the instalment on Monday.
"Further to press speculation regarding the supposed non-payment of an instalment for the transfer of David Goodwillie from Dundee United, Blackburn Rovers Football Club would like to put the record straight," read the statement.
"The club can confirm that it paid all the monies (in accordance with regulations) to the FA on Monday and we are surprised to find this story in the media today."
Goodwille has scored four times in 20 appearances since joining the club.
