Blackburn Rovers caretaker manager Gary Bowyer has insisted that his team showed superb battling qualities to secure a point against Wolverhampton Wanderers tonight.
Jordan Rhodes scored from the penalty spot to give Rovers the lead at Molineux but they were denied a fourth successive win by Roger Johnson's equaliser.
Rovers have taken 10 points from a possible 12 during Bowyer's fortnight in charge and he believes that new manager Michael Appleton can take plenty of positives from tonight's performance.
He told Sky Sports News: "The character of the players was first class. Wolves pumped balls into the box and we defended very well, all bar one.
"It was a fully deserved point. That is a big point in this season. The fighting qualities we showed were brilliant."
Appleton takes over at Ewood Park with Blackburn in 12th place, four points off the Championship playoff places.
