Chicken stops play at Blackburn Rovers

The Premier League clash between Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic is interrupted as a chicken is let loose on the pitch.

Tonight's Premier League clash between Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic was temporarily interrupted when a chicken was let loose on the pitch.

The bird arrived on the field after six minutes, with the score still goalless, dressed in a Blackburn flag.

Play was stopped for around two minutes before a combination of Ali Al Habsi, Yakubu and an Ewood Park steward removed it from the pitch.

It is almost certain that the bird's presence was in protest of the Blackburn owners, who own a chicken farm in India.

Earlier this season, the Anfield cat interrupted a match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
