Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has played down suggestions that he is interested in becoming the next manager of Blackburn Rovers.
Reports had emerged claiming that the Swedish coach had put his name forward for the permanent role, which will be filled by caretaker boss Gary Bowyer until the end of January.
"They are rumours, they are nothing real," Eriksson told BBC Sport. "I haven't been contacted by Blackburn at all so I don't know what they are doing. So it's speculation and rumours.
"In England the quality, the interest and the atmosphere is the best in the world today. But, please, there is nothing at all behind these rumours."
Blackburn sacked manager Henning Berg last week after just 57 days in charge.
