Half-Time Report: Joe Lewis penalty save keeps Blackpool level

Joe Lewis saves a first-half penalty as the Championship clash at Bloomfield Road between Blackpool and Rotherham United goes into the break goalless.

A penalty save from Joe Lewis has kept the Championship match between Blackpool and Rotherham United scoreless at the break at Bloomfield Road.

The visitors threatened in the early minutes of the game as they won a free kick just outside the box, and Lewis was called on to make a good save to tip Emmanuel Ledesma's effort away from goal.

Rotherham were well and truly on the front foot and came close to taking the lead when Lee Frecklington blasted a strike towards the top corner, only to be denied by another fine stop from Lewis.

The Millers were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead when Tom Lawrence was fouled in the area. Lawrence took the spot kick himself, but Lewis once again denied the visitors with a crucial save.

The visitors came within inches of taking the lead as Jordan Bowery fired a strike at goal, but his effort clattered off the post and was cleared to safety before any of his teammates could react.
